You can’t miss the city theater that, following the death of the world-famous opera tenor Luciano Pavarotti, a native of the city, the mayor of Modena announced that the theater and opera house would henceforth bear his name.
The theater was designed by architect Francesco Vandelli to build what was originally called “in honor of the city and the transmission of performing arts.”
Vandelli designed the new theater combining ideas from opera houses in Piacenza, Mantua, and Milan, and it opened in 1841.
