Navigli

Address: Navigli

Navigli is a unique entertainment district in Milan, set among ancient canals. Around 800 years ago, this area served as a bustling port for the otherwise landlocked city. Goods such as marble, salt, and coal arrived via the canals—built on different levels—and after being unloaded, they were sent out again with various handmade crafts produced by the city’s artisans.

Some of those old workshops have since been transformed into shops selling antique artworks. Over time, parts of the canal network—which once stretched a total of 150 km—were drained, but alongside the remaining canals, vibrant nightlife emerged. Today, the area is filled with clubs, restaurants, boutique shops, and other venues, making it a lively, breathing hub, especially in the evening hours.
