The Amedeo Lia Museum is housed in a former monastery that once belonged to the Franciscan friars and later underwent various transformations, including serving as a hospital and government offices. In 1996, it was inaugurated as a museum to house the artworks donated to the city of La Spezia by Amedeo Lia, a local resident and art enthusiast. Its collection is diverse, including sculptures, paintings, portraits, and archaeological artifacts, all from Lia’s private holdings. The artists represented span the 13th–16th centuries, from well-known masters (such as Canaletto, Tintoretto, and Titian) to lesser-known names.
