A complex of buildings that together form the Church and Monastery of Santo Stefano. Four ancient churches (originally there were seven), each containing unique relics and sacred objects, some dating back to the Lombard period. The monastery courtyard is beautiful, and in the Church of San Sepolcro are the remains of the body of Petronius, the patron saint of Bologna. The tomb structure was built inspired by the tomb of Jesus in Jerusalem.
