A short distance from Trieste is an enormous cave whose size earned it a place in the Guinness World Records. It is 107 meters high, 280 meters long, and 65 meters wide. It was likely two caves that merged together in the past. The cave was carved out by a river that no longer exists but may still flow beneath the cave itself.
