The Butterfly House offers a delightful experience: a walk among dozens of butterfly species flying all around you, while learning about the unique varieties that inhabit the island.
Located at the foot of Mount Etna, it is part of the Monte Serra Park Nature Reserve, a horseshoe-shaped area mostly covered with oak forest. From here, the panoramic view over the Catania coastline is truly breathtaking.
In addition to the Butterfly House, the reserve also offers children’s attractions, hiking trails, cycling routes, and a museum dedicated to Europe’s highest active volcano.
The nature reserve is open year-round, while the Butterfly House itself is open from early July. It is recommended to check the exact opening days and times in advance.
