The Beaches of Imperia

The beaches of the western Riviera in Liguria radiate tranquility, calm, and a breath of the region’s clean air. The coastline is occasionally interrupted by ancient towns that invite you to stop for a coffee, a pastry, or perhaps a freshly squeezed orange juice (spremuta), and to enjoy an impressive view of the Ligurian Sea and even the French border. From Imperia to Sanremo it’s a relaxing drive of about half an hour – or it can easily take half a day if you pause at the sandy beaches, the stunning promenades, and the marinas that look as though they were taken straight from a classic Italian postcard.
