Poetto Beach

Address: Lungomare Poetto Viale Poetto 09100

You can’t miss the beautiful Poetto Beach in Cagliari. It stretches for 12 kilometers, from the point called Sella del Diavolo to the town of Quartu Sant’Elena. The name “Poetto” likely comes from a Spanish tower built on the cliff called Poeta.

The beach is divided into sections called Fermate, which makes it easier to navigate. Recommended stopping points include Marina Piccola on the southwest side, known as Fermata 1. Along the entire beach, you’ll find bars and food stalls, with most of them concentrated around Fermata 2. The quieter and less crowded beaches are located near Fermata 7.

To the west of Poetto Beach is the Molentargius Salt Lake (Stagno di Molentargius), where pink flamingos can often be seen resting.
