City center. A perfect spot to start a city tour towards the old town or the shopping boulevard. From there, continue down the staircase towards the harbor and, of course, look for the perfect café or restaurant. In Sorrento, there’s no shortage of them.
The square is named after Torquato Tasso, a native of the city and a 16th-century poet who wrote the famous work Jerusalem Delivered. His statue appears at the beginning of Corso Italia heading west.
In the evening, the square is illuminated, full of locals and tourists, and offers a beautiful view of the sunset from the mast point where several national flags fly.
