Piazza della Libertà

tel: +39-no

Address: Piazza della Libertà 47890 Città di San Marino

One of the most iconic scenes of San Marino. The square opens westward, offering sweeping views of the surrounding hills. At its center stands a statue symbolizing freedom (La Libertà)—a value that San Marino has fiercely protected since its founding. Over the years, various invaders tried to claim it, but with great determination, the tiny republic successfully resisted them all.
The statue was donated by a German family and sculpted by the Italian artist Stefano Galletti. The square features two main buildings: the Palazzo Pubblico (Town Hall) and the Parva Domus, another municipal structure that dates back to the 14th century.
