The center of city life during the Middle Ages, today it is recommended to visit in the evening when the streetlights come on, blending with the backdrop of the surrounding buildings, or on Thursdays and Saturdays when the city market takes place. In the square, you can see the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo, the residence of the city governor and the seven lords who once lived there, featuring a wide staircase leading to the entrance.
Today, the palace serves as a conference center.
