One of the most beautiful examples of Baroque architecture. The palace served as the residence of the rulers from the Este family.

Francesco I, Duke of Modena, in the 17th century wanted to live in a building similar to the palaces of rulers across Europe, and therefore entrusted the work to the greatest architects and artists of the period, such as Francesco Borromini, Gian Lorenzo Bernini, and Pietro da Cortona.

The palace, with its impressive Baroque façade, today houses the Military Academy, the Military Museum, and a library.
