The city’s main museum, also known as the Civic Museum, is part of the complex of the Basilica di San Salvatore e Chiostro delle Monache. The museum houses fascinating archaeological, religious, and artistic artifacts, such as Roman mosaics, walls adorned with frescoes, and its centerpiece – the Cross of Desiderius (La Croce di Desiderio), a Lombard cross inlaid with precious stones.
