An impressive collection of paintings from the Italian Renaissance period.
Originally, it was a larger collection, but part of it was transferred to Naples to the Farnese collection at the National Archaeological Museum.
Over the years, art collections were acquired throughout the duchy by the Duchess of Parma in the 19th century, Marie Louise (Napoleon’s second wife).
It remains an impressive and interesting exhibition that includes paintings by Leonardo da Vinci, Correggio, Tintoretto, and others.
