The Udine Cathedral (Duomo) was built in 1236 and has undergone many renovations over the years. The current façade dates from the 18th century and was constructed in a Renaissance-Gothic style, while the main entrance gate is from the 14th century and features elements symbolizing “redemption.” The interior of the church was restored according to the original plan, with various additions, especially emphasizing Baroque-style enhancements. The walls of the church are adorned with many paintings by Gianbattista Tiepolo. The bell tower dates back to the 15th century and houses an open museum at its base.
