Cathedral of San Martino

tel: +39-0437943464

Address: Piazza Del Duomo, 2, 32100 Belluno

The current church, the Duomo of Belluno, was built in the 16th century. The project was overseen by a well-known Venetian architect named Tullio Lombardo. Over the years, the church underwent architectural changes, including the relocation of the transept and a reorientation of the building, but the most striking feature is the façade, which has remained simple in appearance, without the marble panels and rich decorations typical of Renaissance and later churches. Only the entrance portal, with its columns and arch, stands out. The interior of the church is high, wide, and full of light, and in the apse the glittering Baroque style is especially prominent.
