Originally built in the 13th century, the current structure was renovated and expanded in the 15th century. It is the second-largest church in Venice, after St. Mark’s Basilica, and is located in the San Polo district. Inside, you’ll find incredible works of art, such as Titian’s Assumption of the Virgin and the tomb of the sculptor Antonio Canova, alongside intricately carved wooden choir stalls decorated with religious scenes. It’s also worth taking a look at the cloisters attached to the church, each designed in a distinct architectural style.
