Piediluco Lake
A small and picturesque lake located on the borders of Lazio and Umbria. Amazing. Unfamiliar and less traveled. Perfect for those landing in Rome who intend to explore Umbria and want to start their trip in a calm and serene atmosphere (1 hour and 45 minutes from the airport). Of course, it can be combined with a general trip around Umbria.
The meaning of the word Piedilucco – at the foot of the ‘sacred forest’ (lucus – sacred grove in Latin), which can be understood by looking around the lake, surrounded by many trees, a testament to the forested past of Umbria.
It is 13.5 kilometers long, and it has been chosen by the Italian Olympic rowing federation as the official training camp for the team.
Looking east, you can see the town of Labro, which appears to rest like cream on the edge of a chocolate cup.
Parking:
Corso Raniero Salvati 1, Piediluco
If there is no parking on the street itself, there is one at the beginning – in a large open parking lot.
