Cernobbio is a town located just a short drive from the city of Como and serves as an excellent starting point for visiting several local villas along the southwestern shore of the lake.
It sits at the foot of Mount Bisbino, and in the town center, along the lakefront, is Piazza Risorgimento, surrounded by restaurants, cafés, and playgrounds for children.

One of the most famous villas is Villa d’Este, built on the ruins of an ancient monastery. It was privately owned and today is one of the most luxurious hotels in Europe.

Villa Bernasconi, known for its Liberty style architecture (the Italian version of Art Nouveau).
