Carlazzo is a small town located between Lake Como and Lake Lugano, overlooking the tiny Lake Piano.
The town lies at the heart of the Lake Piano Nature Reserve (also called Piano), and features several churches — one of which, Santo Stefano, houses a unique organ crafted by the Serassi family, renowned throughout Italy in the 19th century for making this type of instrument.
The town also has a lovely fortress, and the path leading to it offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
