A lake that looks like it came out of a postcard. Upon arriving in the town, it is recommended to first stop at the viewpoint near the Santuario del Santissimo Crocifisso church. There you can also park and walk to the statue of the goddess Diana, located at the entrance to Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
Along this street, you’ll find delicatessens offering excellent cured meats and cheeses, cafés with views of the lake, and stalls selling the famous small tarts topped with wild strawberries (Crostatine con Fragoline).
At the foot of the lake once stood a temple dedicated to Diana, the goddess of the woods. During the Fascist period, ancient Roman ships were discovered in the lake’s waters.
