La perduta città di Canale Monterano – Canale Monterano, Viterbo
One of the most beautiful “vanished” towns that still remain.
Located along the road that once led to Rome, the town was formerly under the control of the noble Orsini and Altieri families.
It’s an excellent site for photography, with ancient ruins that still include entire walls, arched columns, facades of public buildings, and aqueducts.
Over the years, the site has served as a filming location for several well-known movies, including Ben-Hur, All the Money in the World, and Guardie e ladri (“Cops and Robbers”).
A perfect place for walking tours among the ruins and for enjoying a picnic in nature.
