Borgo San Giuliano and Fellini

tel: +39-no

Crossing the Ponte di Tiberio leads you to the area beyond the river called Borgo San Giuliano, which has become the most picturesque neighborhood in Rimini. In the past, it was a fishermen’s district where boats docked along the canal banks. Today, boats still dock at the pier, and the simple neighborhood has transformed into a colorful area with low-rise houses, small restaurants serving local cuisine and typical seafood dishes. Fellini, a native of Rimini, loved wandering around this area, drawing inspiration from the residents and even involving some of them as actors in his films. The mutual affection between the residents and the director can be seen in the neighborhood’s murals depicting characters from his movies (Mastroianni, Ekberg, Benigni) and local heroes who participated in his films.
