Piazza Aurelio Saffi, located in the heart of Forlì, is impressive, beautiful, and elegant.
At its center stands a monument with the statue of Aurelio Saffi, a native of the city and one of the activists in the struggle for the unification of Italy.
It is considered one of the largest squares in Italy, surrounded on all sides by impressive public buildings, some of which are decorated with arcades and arches.
In the 11th century, the square’s area belonged to the nearby monastery, and only in the 12th century did the monastery leaders agree to open the square to the public.
