Stretching along Naples’ seafront, bordered by Piazza Vittoria to the east and the Mergellina neighborhood to the west, Chiaia is one of the wealthiest districts in Naples.

Along its main streets and squares, you’ll find many luxury brand stores as well as prestigious high schools.

The most notable landmark in the area is the large public garden known as Villa Comunale.

Historically, the district began its development in the late 16th and early 17th centuries, when the Spanish rulers of Naples expanded the city westward beyond its historical boundaries.

The elegant Via dei Mille, one of the district’s most famous streets, is home to Liberty-style (Art Deco) palaces, churches, and the Naples Museum of Modern Art (PAN – Palazzo delle Arti Napoli).
