The two towers, called “Dona” and “Grimani,” are remnants of a large fortress that once stood there, built following a dream. The area itself was full of roses, and one of the bishops, Paolo Cattaneo, received a message in a dream from Saint Peter instructing him to move to the “place with the roses.” The bishop moved his seat of power to this location and built a fortress to defend against attacking barbarians. Since then, only the towers have survived, which can be visited. Legend has it that beneath them lies a hidden network of tunnels that has yet to be uncovered.
