A picturesque neighborhood on the opposite side of the Tiber River, which crosses through the city. During the day, the narrow alleyways hide artisan workshops and small boutique stores. As evening approaches, the neighborhood transforms into an open-air space filled with restaurants, street performers, and jewelry stalls.
At the central square stands a charming church, Basilica di Santa Maria in Trastevere, one of the oldest in Rome, featuring a beautiful Byzantine mosaic façade. At the entrance to the neighborhood from the river side, you can descend to the riverbanks, where — during the summer or around winter holidays — public events and food stalls are often held.
