Type: Nature
Parco delle Cascate is a beautiful nature reserve and the perfect escape from the likely heat during July and August. The drive to the park is an experience in itself, passing through the famous Valpolicella wine region. The park is located in a stream valley beneath the charming town of Molina.
Be prepared for a steep descent from the parking lot to the entrance, but walking through the town’s alleys is worth the effort. On your way down, notice the small, humble church and the nearby delicatessen, where you can stock up on picnic supplies to enjoy at one of the park’s resting spots. Families with strollers should bring a baby carrier (from the park entrance). The park offers three trails:
Green: short, about 30 minutes.
Red: 60 minutes, slightly more effort but manageable.
Black: for experienced hikers only, about 2 hours.
What to expect: multiple waterfalls, a swing reaching almost to the waterfall, shaded walking paths (worth the visit alone), and magical picnic spots.
Remember: from the parking lot to the entrance is about 15 minutes downhill, and no one will carry you back up.
