The impressive building, overlooking Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, was built during the Renaissance boom in the city when the Este family ruled. Today, it houses the Pinacoteca, which contains paintings by some of the best Italian artists from the 15th to the 18th centuries, such as Tintoretto, Titian, Tiepolo, and Bellini. In addition, it includes archaeological finds from ancient periods such as Egypt, Greece, Rome, and the Veneti people who lived in the area before Roman rule.
