A popular tourist site thanks to a stone face sculpture surrounded by legend. The sculpture itself was probably part of an ancient fountain from the Roman period and was placed near the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin. The legend says that anyone who puts their hand into the open mouth of the sculpture and tells a lie will have their hand bitten off by the sculpture. Many people enjoy taking photos with their hand inside the round mouth of the sculpture, hoping that nothing will happen.
