An interesting site located beneath the Church of San Giovanni Evangelista. The catacombs are chambers carved into the rock during the 4th and 5th centuries AD, serving as burial sites for early Christians. Each catacomb contains up to seven tombs, a main hall from which secondary halls branch out, ending in round or rotunda-shaped chapels. In total, there are about 1,000 tombs across the site, and in some areas, the walls are decorated with frescoes.
