Bassano del Grappa is mainly known for two things:
The first is the production of grappa, the famous digestif, which can be found in several distilleries around the town—the most famous being the POLI distillery.
The second is the Old Bridge (Ponte Vecchio), also known as the Alpini Bridge, spanning the Brenta River. It was designed by one of the greatest Renaissance architects, Andrea Palladio. Although the bridge was destroyed several times throughout history, it has always been rebuilt in exactly the same way.
